Customer Reviews about State Farm: Hunter Wyant:

  • ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Absolutely horrible to do business with! Previously, I did business with State Farm in Oregon for 16 years, and had zero problems in that time. I transferred my policy to Hunter Wyant State Farm for 2 months, had zero claims in that time, and they had absolutely terrible customer service! Two agents (Lynn Clements and Kimberly Robinson) did not respond to 3 emails (one initial email and two reminder emails asking if they could please respond) that I sent both of them over a more than 1 month period asking super basic questions: (1) when is the next payment due? (2) what is the change in premiums if I change the coverage? Previously Lynn did demand via email my spouse’s driver’s license number. I was quite confused and stressed out about that because my spouse does not drive, and does not have a driver’s license number. I do not know why it is assumed that my spouse drives. Nevertheless, in our initial email exchange, I was quite prompt in responding (1-2 days), and the issue was cleared up. I was quite annoyed that when I had questions in return, I was just completely ignored. Since there is no response to my questions about premiums, and their competitor has a better price, I thus started the process of cancelling my State Farm account. Unfortunately, there were tons more problems! I called up to cancel and thought this would be simple. Actually, no. Apparently, without informing me via email or phone, State Farm had changed the premium that I have in a printed receipt from them, and also mailed a refund check. I asked one agent (Sydney) where the refund check was sent. She said she was unable to determine without calling corporate, because apparently the local office and corporate operate two non-connected computer systems. After several calls back and forth, she finally called me back with the information. She told me the address of where the check was sent, and also informed me that she had voided the check (without asking me first, of course). I asked her if she could undo the voiding of the check, because it would be very aggravating to have to revisit this issue again in two weeks. She said “no I can’t do that,” and apologized for the inconvenience, as she had said several other times in our phone calls. Indeed, I agree: the kind of behavior that I encountered from Hunter Wyant State Farm was without any doubt incredibly inconvenient. I finally entered the business and asked to cancel my policy, and asked for written confirmation of the cancellation. The receptionist said she was unwilling to provide any written confirmation of the cancellation of any form, not even a handwritten note, and said it would be sent out by mail after a week. OK, so more “screw you customer” business policies. That was not entirely unexpected! She asked me why I wanted written confirmation that my policy was cancelled. I calmly explained that in U.S. contract law it is standard to get everything in writing. (But this is very basic business knowledge — things should not be this difficult!). The same receptionist also asked me if State Farm could call me up and try to sell me on some new plan, because “rates change.” Yeah right? Who wants to deal with all of this crazy BS? I declined that offer. Then, the final step in my State Farm relationship was I wanted to get documented proof that my policy was actually cancelled, instead of having some other crazy thing happen to it. Thus, I additionally had to call up another of their agents (Ben) over the phone, inform him that I was recording the conversation, and get verbal confirmation of the cancellation. More fun.

  • I trust Hunter with all of my finances and insurance! Robert and Eric were so helpful on my visit today. I definitely recommend coming in to talk to them, they presented options that I didn't even know existed! Thank you :-)

  • As soon as I walked in they were super helpful. I was in and out pretty quickly and feel confident that I made the right decision by choosing them for insurance.
